It’s Still Sunny In Winter
In the depths of a British winter, when most turn away from the sea, Barnaby Cox paddles into it. A calm presence in powerful conditions, he seeks the raw beauty of winter swells and reflects a philosophy of surfing rooted in respect and shared knowledge.

Director’s note:
The film was shot on a mix of cameras and formats – 16mm for its raw, organic feel, DV for its playful nostalgia, and digital (FX6 and GH5s) to capture the speed and power of heavy winter surf. Working with Barnaby is always a pleasure. Even when freezing or soaked through, he brings calm energy and a great sense of humour. Huge thanks to Barnaby and his friends for making it all possible.
