Capturing Knepp’s Beaver Kits - Ffern
Making of film | 3 min
Hiding out with the Ffern film crew for a week, documenting their process as they tracked down and waited to capture the newly born beaver kits for the Ffern Spring 26 campaign film - This Wild Land.
"Born late in spring, beaver kits come into the world with their eyes open. Their coats are fully furred and they are able to splash around in crystal waters within the first couple of days.
When we set out to film Knepp Wilding’s new beaver kits, we had no idea how elusive they would be. Toying with our crew, they led us down many a wrong path... wading through streams and waist-high water, past severed tree trunks still cloaked in darkness, to the growing sounds of the dawn chorus.
Watch to see where camerawomen Katie Mayhew and Katie Vickers, ecologist David Plummer, and producer Alice Martineau eventually found these mischievous creatures hiding…" - Ffern.
