A glimpse into the life of British surfer, Barnaby Cox, during the coldest days of winter. I pitched the idea to Barnaby's sponsor, Spy Optic, because I wanted to show the joy that can be found during the winter months by following Barnaby around. We explored the Cornish coast around his hometown of Bude and beyond, we scored incredible waves, spent time with his nearest and dearest, and got soaked through shooting in the worst conditions possible.

Fun was had shooting on a variety of cameras and formats: 16mm film, DV camcorder, Sony FX6 and Panasonic GH5s.

Huge thank you to Barnaby and his friends.

This was a lovely project I shot and edited for Rebecca Proctor. Inspired by a simple yet beautiful film by the Gasser Brothers, I visited Rebecca on several different occasions to film cosidered snippets of her process to show the passing of time and constant effort and motion that is needed to create her beautiful works. Stoking the huge anagama-type wood-fired kiln at Kigbeare Studios, in Devon, and then working in her own studio in North Cornwall. Her raw and elegant work can be found, for example, in The Clove Club, London, Inver, Scotland. As well as in galleries and shops, such as Toast.

This was a really great project for the Cleaner Seas Group and one I’m quite proud of. I provided a full production service coming up with the creative with Avril Greenaway and lighting, shooting, editing and creating the look and sound design for this spot myself.

What does climate change mean for food production? Harsh growing conditions and unpredictable weather will make it difficult for growers and famers, and will affect supply chains. Can the town of Bude in North Cornwall lead the way in creating a resilient community of producers and growers through collaboration and innovation?

This is one in a series of films that I made for the Bude Climate Partnership that helped them secure £2 million in funding for climate change projects in Bude and get coverage in The Guardian newspaper.

As Tobias Bradford switches on all the plugs in his London studio, the quiet room is transformed into a bustling space filled with the noise of whirring motors, banging drums and keyboard keys being mashed at once. While the mechanised sculptures responsible for the din shuffle endlessly on the spot in a slightly awkward manner.

It’s such a privilege to be allowed into someone’s private workspace where they spend so much of their time creating wonderful things. To document it, along with a lovely interview, makes me very happy. Thanks for having us Tobias. And huge thanks to ARTLOVER Magazine and absolute legend, Leon Foggitt.

Our Community, Our Livelihood, Our Future - Bude Climate Partnership

In North Cornwall, the town of Bude and its economy is in danger as sea level rise threatens to put homes, beaches and businesses under water. Will this popular tourist destination and its community be able to adapt and become resilient to the impacts of climate change?

This is one in a series of films I made for the Bude Climate Partnership. This series of films helped the BCP to secure £2 million in funding for climate change projects in Bude, as well as helping them to get coverage in The Guardian newspaper.

It’s very important to me to regularly immerse myself in nature; it helps me maintain a healthy, and happy mind. Just by taking a short stroll through my local woods, I’m able to imagine that I am in some remote wilderness and I come out feeling refreshed. You don’t have to travel far to find solitude in nature, and a sense of adventure can be created with just a little imagination. That’s what this video is about.
